Payment

We accept secure payments online via PayPal - please note you don't need to have a PayPal account. Please note that we cannot offer any other forms of payment at this time.

Dispatch

All Items in stock will usually be dispatched within 48 hours of order and delivered via Royal Mail.  This usually takes between 2-3 days, however please allow up to 10 days within busy periods. We also offer the option for recorded delivery should you want your item next day, for which there is an extra charge. 

Where an item is out of stock you will be contacted within 14 working days and offered your choice of a full refund or alternative or a date for delivery.  Please note some of our items are sourced from the USA and Canada so may take longer to arrive, but you will be advised of by email or phone.

Returns Policy
You have a right to cancel your order within seven days of purchase of within seven days of receipt of the goods in accordance with the EU Distance Selling Directive which came in to force in October 2000 and is part of UK laws for consumer protection.

Should you wish to cancel your order please contact us as soon as possible.  Providing the unwanted goods are received back to us in an unused, unopened and resalable condition within seven days then a refund will be made. 

You are advised to wrap the product carefully to avoid damage and return the goods via recorded delivery, registered post or by courier. Proof of postage will not be acceptance of proof of delivery. Please enclose a copy of your receipt and name and address.  We cannot accept liability for returned goods lost or damaged in transit.

Terms and conditions relating to accommodation bookings for UK Knit Camp and UK Ravelry Day 2010
 
‘We’ and ‘us’ refers to British Yarn, ‘You’ and ‘guests’ refers to any customers
 
1.   We are only offering an accommodation package of six nights, to cover the period Monday 9th August 2010 - Saturday 14th August 2010, with guests leaving on the morning of Sunday 15th August 2010.
 
 2. Accommodation packages will be available to purchase from 8.00pm GMT on 1st October 2009.
 
 
3. Only single rooms are available. You can find details of the rooms on our website.
 
4. You will only be able to book one room at a time. Should you wish to purchase for a friend, you will need to complete a separate transaction with their name and contact details.
 
5. Only guests staying on campus will be eligible to book on to extra activities such as excursions, on site events and the such like. We do not guarantee that you will be able to book on to any event - whether there be a charge or they are free of charge. We reserve the right to open up all activities to other participants not staying on campus should the places not be filled by 1st April 2010.
 
 
6. The first £50 of each booking is classed as a deposit and is non-refundable.
 
7. If you wish to cancel your booking at any time, you will be refunded on the following scale:
Notification of cancellation (by e-mail quoting your booking reference number)
on or before 1st December 2009:                                                                                                      90% (excluding deposit)
on or before 1st February 2010:                                                                                                                                 80% (excluding deposit)
on or before 1st April 2010:                                                                                                                                                                                                   65% (excluding deposit)
on or before 1st May 2010:                                                                                                                                                                                                                 50% (excluding deposit)
on or before 1st June 2010:                                                                                                                                                                                                     40% (excluding deposit)
on or before 1st July 2010:                                                                                                                                                                                                                  30% (excluding deposit)
on or before 14th July 2010:                                                                                                                                                                                        20% (excluding deposit)
on or before 1st August 2010:                                                                                                                                                10% (excluding deposit)
 
7.1.     No refunds will be available after 2nd August 2010 unless there are extreme circumstances out of your control namely being serious illness of yourself or close family member, death of close family member, Acts of God which prevent you attending.
 
8. Your booking does not guarantee your participation in any of the Knit Camp classes and it is your responsibility to book your attendance at classes separately. Knit Camp classes are charged separately from this booking and are therefore to be deemed a separate transaction.
9. Your booking does not guarantee your participation in UK Ravelry day 2010, nor any of the events taking place during that event.
 
10. We reserve the right to refuse any booking for accommodation at UK Knit Camp without giving any reason or justification of our decision.
11. All transactions are to be paid immediately through PayPal to guarantee we receive your booking.   You do not need a PayPal account, just a debit/credit card. 
12. You will receive an e-mail notification from us within 7 - 10 days after booking, confirming your booking and quoting your booking reference number. Please make sure that you bring a printout of this booking confirmation with you, as you will require it to book into your accommodation.
 
13. Please make sure you are able to arrive at the University between 1.00pm and 5.30pm. You will need to come to the Reception of Andrew Stewart Hall to pick up your Welcome Pack, which will include details of your accommodation, a brochure of the events. You will also be able to pick up your class schedule and passes, and any Ravelry Day-related tickets or passes at the same time. 
13.1 If you are staying at John Forty’s Court, which is the off-site self-catering University accommodation, you will still need to attend the main campus (the reception of Andrew Stewart Hall) to pick up your welcome pack before heading to your accommodation. There will be a member of our staff there to help you once you arrive.
